Compact 8-Inch 2-way Loudspeaker, Black

The AC18/95 is a compact full-range loudspeaker system designed to provide maximum bandwidth and SPL in a single system package and yet be visually unobtrusive. The enclosure design allows for installation very close to walls and ceilings, making it an ideal choice for under balcony, column, or wall mounting. The high frequency device is a 1” exit compression driver integrated into a newly designed 90° x 50° rotatable PT (Progressive Transition) waveguide, providing even coverage throughout the intended listening area. The combination exhibits smooth power response resulting in extremely natural voicing. The AC18/95 utilizes an 8” Symmetrical Field Geometry (SFG) LF Transducer with a copper-clad aluminum edge-wound 2.5” voice coil and a copper-clad pole piece that improves performance by reducing voice coil inductance and distortion.

Progressive Transition Waveguides

In addition to providing smooth, low-distortion sound, Progressive Transition Waveguides deliver uniform off-axis frequency response to every point within the intended coverage area — not just in the horizontal and vertical planes. PT Waveguides combine outstanding pattern control with undistorted sound for natural music and intelligible speech.

Durability

Every enclosure is constructed with multi-ply hardwood and finished with JBL’s proprietary DuraFlex paint for the utmost in strength and durability. Each loudspeaker system utilizes professional-grade components and are voiced to work with all AE Series loudspeaker systems. In addition, each transducer has been subject to JBL’s grueling 100-hour torture test to ensure years of trouble-free operation.

Flexibility

JBL Professional AE Compact series speakers are designed with multiple attachment points for mounting accessories such as OmniMount type bracket and U-brackets, as well as stand mount adapters.
